Robert_M_CampbellIt is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kure It Board Member Robert M. Campbell. Since joining Kure It, Bob served as a passionate member of the Board. He was someone who realized the importance of funding innovative research to find new ways to treat kidney and other underfunded cancers.

Bob was a well-loved and highly respected businessman, known for his philanthropic efforts in multiple nonprofit organizations and community activities. He brought his business expertise to the Board of Directors, along with his deep compassion for humanity. A key contributor to Kure It’s support from the commercial real estate industry, Bob served as a leader for other humanitarian efforts by corporate organizations. His input and expertise will truly be missed by our organization.

We extend our condolences and sympathy to the Campbell family, and to the many friends and colleagues who were fortunate to know Bob.

Date Set for 4th ANNUAL KURE IT 901 CLUB REUNION IN NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF.

Last year, fans of USC Trojan football raised nearly $50,000 for cancer research during the 3rd Annual Kure It 901 Club Reunion.  This year's event is shaping up to make an even bigger impact in the fight against underfunded cancers. More details will follow, but guests can expect great food and margaritas from El Cholo, entertaining speakers, and many unique items in our live and silent auctions.

With his family, Barry Hoeven, a cancer patient himself, founded Kure It after becoming aware that many cancers were underfunded when it came to research. Kure it has raised over $1 million since starting in 2007. Every dollar brings us closer to finding a cure for kidney and other cancers.

Please save August 25, 2012 at 6:30 pm on your calendar, and stay tuned for more details!

Details:

As the charitable beneficiary, Kure It is excited to announce the filming of A City Divided, a documentary highlighting the longstanding rivalry between the football teams of the University of Southern California and the University of California – Los Angeles. Kure It will equally donate all proceeds from the film to the USC and UCLA medical centers for cancer research.

There are many college football rivalries; however, the USC/UCLA rivalry remains unique since the schools share the city of Los Angeles, with only 12 miles of separation. A City Divided will feature the most memorable moments in the schools’ rivalry, with personal accounts from coaches, players and fans.

The movie is being filmed by Emmy Award winners Jack Baric and Barry O’Brien. The goal of the project is to unite students, alumni and fans of both schools in the mission of funding innovative cancer research.

Money donated to cancer research includes half the profits from the film’s DVD sales, all of the net proceeds from the red carpet film premiere and 15% of the overall budget for the film project.
