Todd Perry (left center), Chairman of the Board for Kure It, presents Dr. Richard Van Etten (right center), Director of the Chao Family Cancer Comprehensive Center with a $100,000 grant with the Kure It team and UCI Principal Investigators present.
Kure It Cancer Research has had a long standing connection with the California Self-Storage Association (CSSA). Kure It was founded by US Storage Center's Chairman and Founder, Barry Hoeven, after his diagnosis with kidney cancer. Barry realized there was a need for increased funding in research of kidney and other underfunded cancers. Over the last 10 years, Kure It has raised over $2.2 million dollars from self-storage industry events and fundraising campaigns.
Kure It was able to grant UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (CFCCC) $100,000 through our annual events with the CSSA. This grant is being used to investigate and develop treatments in kidney and colon cancers. The Kure It team sat down with the Principal Investigators (PI) of the grant to learn more about the goals of the project and the progress being made.
"The UC Irvine Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center is a leader in cancer research and an organization we are proud to support," said Todd Perry, chairman of the board for kure it. "We will continue to implement creative strategies to raise money to support institutions which are committed to groundbreaking cancer research."
